Children’s Pastors, Andy and Mary Beth King
Pastors Andy and Mary Beth KingIn many ways, Andy is still a kid at heart. In his late twenties, he began helping out with puppets, drama skits, object lessons and other children’s ministry activities at his church and soon realized that he loved seeing God at work in children’s lives. Since then, Andy has had the privilege to serve under two very fun-loving and anointed children’s pastors: Dotty Ellingwood, here at Genesis Church and John Teller, at Oak Hills Assembly of God in Cincinnati, Ohio. Andy took over the reins as Children’s Pastor at Genesis in September 2010 and is assisted by his wife, Mary Beth (and a bunch of awesome volunteers). They have two children, Amanda and Caleb. The Kings passionately seek to raise up a generation that fully understands their identity and destiny in God’s Kingdom and who will “LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, ANDWITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH“ (Mark12:30). Apart from children’s ministry, Andy is a wildlife biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and enjoys exploring the natural wonders of God’s creation with his family, as well as raising chickens and pigs, gardening, photography, working on his old farmhouse, and collecting those little labels off of fruits and veggies (Okay, I’m just amused by the last one, but checkout…
